On Wednesday May 19, 2021 there will be a Hochschule Fresenius online event: Digital Open Campus. The different locations of Hochschule Fresenius in Germany, as well as the diverse range of study programs and the special features of studying will be presented during this event to prospective students, enrolled students and any other interested persons. From 6:45 – 7:30pm, our faculty member Mr. Amit Ray will give a presentation on “Global Skills: Getting ready for the workplace of the future”. The session refers to the increasingly global society and economy which presents challenges and opportunities. Mr. Ray will highlight that being prepared for this environment is about more than just language skills. In this session, we will further discuss how having an internationalized education contributes to the development of critical competencies that are beneficial to both individual growth and professional success. Our TAVEC Project Research Coordinator Lena Mewes will introduce the TAVEC Project and we will listen to our student Kimberly Hoffmann who will share first-hand TAVEC experiences.
It all started with the beginning of our first semester at Hochschule Fresenius in Cologne when we were introduced to an exciting but also challenging task. In cooperation with students of the Adelphi University in New York we were offered to participate in a cross-cultural project, where given only few details we were free to use our imagination and creativity to produce very diverse results. Jana Braun, a student of International Business Management (B.A.), reports about her TAVEC experience and the conference.

TAVEC, the new project between the Hochschule Fresenius in Cologne and the Adelphi University in New York lets its students come together virtually! But what exactly is TAVEC? And to what extent do the students from Cologne and New York work together?
True to the name of the study program ‘International Business Management‘, working in groups was rethought at Hochschule Fresenius in Cologne: Group work but make it international and that in times of a global pandemic! In winter semester 2020 students of the Hochschule Fresenius worked together with students of the Adelphi University in New York on creative projects spanning a wide range of topics. Paula Kolb, a student of International Business Management (B.A.), reports about her TAVEC experience and the conference.

LudwigWe are all winners! – The first TAVEC Conference
TAVEC hosted a workshop for all TAVEC students in preparation for our trans-atlantic student conference to provide tips and advice on how to succeed in virtual team-building, leading to effective (virtual) presentation skills. The workshop highlighted the importance of possessing a strong narrative voice- to leave the audience with a sense of change/movement. We all ended the workshop with a sense of surprise, interest and admiration for the depth of the issues and topics that each and every TAVEC student has accomplished, individually.
